If by chance, you are traveling through Saskatchewan, take some time to visit, stay, hang out a bit in Swift Current.  A survey of 100 cities by Environment Canada found that Swift Current has the 3rd most sunshine, 5th clearest skies with least smoke and haze in the country!  As well, it is reminiscent of how towns used to be way back in the day when parks, churches, playgrounds, schools, stores and recreational facilities  were all within walking distance.

With facilities, entertainment, eateries close by, you can walk to various spots but make sure you dress warmly.  From Jan. 27/2023-April 9/2023, the Canada Science and Technology Museum is hosting the Cipher/Decipher event. The presentation shows how encryption works, how it affects our lives and how to keep our modern digital communications secure.  Very worthwhile. 

Saskatchewan has many NHL greats originally from the province and if you have time, definitely check out the beautiful Innovation Plex where the Swift Current Broncos play...hopefully you might be able to see a game.  The Innovation Plex is also open to the public for skating, curling and hockey....people say how beautiful the ice is for skating!  

Check out the Living Sky Casino, play a game or two, and if hungry, try the indoors Horizons Restaurant.  There are also live shows performed at the casino.  For an evening of fun, head to Lucky Charlie's Pub & Pool..you will also find karaoke, comedians and live music on certain days/ evenings.

Lastly, FOOD, that has got to be on everyone's bucket list..no matter where one goes!  The Akropol Family Restaurant has been in business for over 60 years..serving a wide array of comfort foods, from pizza, Mediterranean, Greek, as well vegan, gluten-free options. Try Wong's Kitchen for Chinese, Spice Hut for Indian and Originally Joe's for a varied menu.  Black Bridge Brewery is hidden away in an industrial area., but worth the time finding it..people praise their beer..try the milk stout.
