With Canada’s vaccination campaign underway and COVID cases down across the country, Saskatchewan is finally starting to reopen. Do you know what that means? Events are back! There is one major annual event that is officially returning for 2021: Swift Current’s Frontier Days.

Hosted by the Swift Current Agricultural & Exhibition Association, the annual event is confirmed for June 30th to July 4th. To ensure the safety of all attendees, Frontier Days will feature a mix of in-person and virtual events.

The schedule of events has already been released and clearly indicates which events will be live and which are online only.

Taking place at multiple venues and locations across the city, there promises to be all kinds of family-friendly events over the course of the festival.

For example, Frontier Days will kick off on June 30th with the WW Smith Drive Thru Burrito Breakfast, Spirit of the West Parade Tour Judging, and the SaskTel Kiddies Day Parade. Each of these events will be live, in addition to the Pet Costume Winner and Crochet/Knitting Winner, which will be announced virtually.

Other in-person events include a special Canada Day Scavenger Hunt on July 1st, a Living Sky Casino Fireworks Show taking place at 11:00 pm on Canada Day, a Steer Sale and Stockcar Racing show on July 3rd, and one final Stockcar Racing show on July 4th.

As you can see, there will be no shortage of in-person events at this year’s Frontier Days festival. Meanwhile, virtual events at the 2021 festival range from the Cypress Motors and CMX Virtual Car Show on Facebook and the Docs Town Tour to a Canada Day Facts activity and Sneak Peek at 4-H Livestock Shows.

If you’re going to be in Swift Current between June 30th and July 4th, then be sure to attend Frontier Days. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to host you at the Home Inn Swift Current. We offer quality accommodation, family-friendly amenities, and an unbeatable location in the heart of the city.
